vessel [2026]
Vessel reframes contemporary beauty as process rather than product. In an era shaped by branding, filtering, and performance, beauty is often presented as a final image, polished, controlled, complete. This work instead focuses on the liminal state: the unstable, transitional moments that precede or resist that image.
The cocoon functions as both material and metaphor. It is not simply a symbol of rebirth, but an active site of tension. Inside it, the body is restricted, and vulnerable. Transformation is not glamorous; it is slow, awkward, and uncomfortable. Yet this liminal state holds its own form of beauty. By centering containment rather than completion, vessel asks viewers to reconsider where beauty belongs.
